C ointegration and the joint confirmation hypothesis
In this paper, the discussion concerning the joint use of unit root and stationarity tests is extended to the case of cointegration. Critical values for testing the joint confirmation hypothesis of no cointegration are computed and a small Monte Carlo experiment evaluates the relative performance of this approach.
متن کاملColor categories: Confirmation of the relativity hypothesis
The question of whether language affects our categorization of perceptual continua is of particular interest for the domain of color where constraints on categorization have been proposed both within the visual system and in the visual environment. Recent research (Roberson et al., 2000; Roberson et al., in press) found substantial evidence of cognitive color differences between different langu...
متن کاملSecond-order probability affects hypothesis confirmation.
Bayesian confirmation measures give numerical expression to the impact of evidence E on a hypothesis H. All measures proposed to date are formal-that is, functions of the probabilities Pr[see equation in text], Pr[see equation in text], Pr[see equation in text], Pr[see equation in text], and nothing more. Experiments reported in Tentori, Crupi, and Osherson (2007) suggest that human confirmatio...
متن کاملInteractive Object Recognition through Hypothesis Generation and Confirmation
An effective human-robot interaction is essential for wide penetration of service robots into the market. Such robot needs a vision system to recognize objects. It is, however, difficult to realize vision systems that can work in various conditions. More robust techniques of object recognition and image segmentation are essential. Thus, we have proposed to use the human user’s assistance for ob...
متن کاملUnit Root and Panel Cointegration Test of the Complementarity Hypothesis in the Mexican Case , 1960 - 2001
Using panel data, this paper tests whether public and private capital have a positive and significant effect on aggregate output and labor productivity for Mexico during the 1960-2001 period. The richer information set made possible by the sectorial data enables this study to utilize the methodologically sound “group-mean” Fully Modified Ordinary Least Squares (FMOLS) procedure developed by Ped...
